Test shooting...

I have shoot tomorrow for a very important person in a great organization.  I am nervous.  So, today I gave myself an hour to set up a shot and get some frames.  I did it and it worked.  Here is the result:

I've been trying to get some  of these balanced light shots in the past and they haven't worked out so well.  But I have been studying and refining my technique and, I am very pleased with the results.  I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

For the photo nerds out there:

I exposed the shot for the window at f4, 1/60th of a second, at ISO 50.  Here is the shot without the added light:

Then I added a single speedlight in a Westcott Rapid Box that acts like a beauty dish this is directly off camera right and just about straight on to me.  The setting on the speedlight were full power.  To avoid the light reflecting in the widow too much I had to place it very low.  Luckily it did not wind up looking like cheap horror movie lighting.

Until next time...
